Self Mastery Tips is an independent website about personal growth and self-improvement. This page explains how our articles are made, which sources we rely on, and how to reach us if something is wrong.
How we choose topics
We write about the questions people actually ask when they want to change something in their life: building discipline, handling emotions, gaining confidence, focusing better and relating to others. We prefer fewer, more complete guides over many thin pages, and we regularly merge or retire articles that no longer meet our standards.
How articles are written
Articles are published under the pen name Daniel Brooks. We use AI writing tools to help research and draft them. Every draft starts with a research step that looks for authoritative sources first, and the links we cite are checked to make sure they point to real, live pages. We do not let the tools invent sources, statistics, quotes, studies or personal stories.
Our content is general information. It is not written or reviewed by a licensed psychologist, therapist or doctor, and it is not a substitute for professional help. See our disclaimer.
Our sources
When we cite research or guidance, we look for:
- peer-reviewed research (for example on PubMed, PubMed Central or APA journals),
- government and public health agencies (such as the NIH, NIMH, CDC or WHO),
- universities, major medical centers and recognized professional bodies (such as the American Psychological Association).
We avoid using forums, social media posts or other blogs as evidence. When the research on a topic is limited or mixed, we say so.
Keeping content up to date
We review and rewrite older articles when better evidence becomes available, when a page is incomplete, or when readers point out a problem. Updated articles show the date of their last update.
Advertising and affiliate links
Some pages may contain affiliate links, for example to books. If you buy through one of these links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we write. We do not publish sponsored posts, and we do not accept content about gambling, betting or similar products.
Corrections and feedback
If you find an error, an outdated fact or a broken source, please use our contact page. We review every report and correct the article when it is wrong.
